Where can I find travel insurance to cover me for a trip that doesn't start and end in the UK!?!?

I'm studying temporarily in France but am planning a holiday to Germany for 2 weeks. I'll be departing from and returning to France but all the travel insurance companies I've tried so far need me to be flying from and back to the UK.. And french companies need me to be a "permanent resident" of France... which I'm not!! What should I do?

try bupa as far as i know they do a yearly travel insurance that will cover you in Europe or one that covers the world and is by far the best and it make no different where you start form where it ends you dont even have to tell them when your going or coming your covered once you take it out the vhi in Ireland have one to

You can just get that extended for the other countries you plan on visiting.
